Author Bio:
Website | Facebook | Twitter | Goodreads

When Imogen was little, she loved reading so much that she not only read in bed, at the table and in the bath, but in the shower and – not so successfully – on her bicycle.

She enjoyed books in a slightly unorthodox way, too: tearing paper from the margins in order to eat it.

Now, she writes science fiction and fantasy for adults and young adults and lives with her partner, their two teenage daughters, and their three cats, near Sherwood Forest in England. She still reads in most places, but she no longer eats paper.

All about Writing
1. How did your interest in writing originated?
With telling stories to my little sister, Jossy.

2. What is your work schedule like when you're writing?
Coffee, laptop, a thousand words before lunch. If I don't manage to get them done during the day, I tap away on the laptop while my husband sleeps in bed that night. Fortunately, he's very tolerant.

3. Do you work with outline or just write?
I have to have some kind of outline, but I don't necessarily keep to it!

4. What was the hardest part in writing your book? The easiest?
The hardest part was making the worldbuilding make sense. I owe my editor a LOT for helping me get it right. The easiest part, for me, is always writing dialogue--especially arguments, because the characters kind of take over and help me out.

5. What do you like to do when you're not writing?
Read, cook, go running in the countryside near my house, drink wine with friends, watch True Blood and Game of Thrones with my teenage daughters.

Finish the sentence
1. The difference between fiction and reality is fiction makes more sense.
2. Research is what I'm doing when making it all up from nothing isn't going sound convincing.
3. I can write better when I've had plenty of coffee.
4. Sleep is an excellent way to spend Saturday mornings.
5. A room without a book is lonely.
